Strides Performance Sports and Performance Physiotherapy

Sports physiotherapy in Narre Warren

Strides Performance supports swimmers and young athletes through injury, rehabilitation and return to sport. Helping young athletes stay healthy enough to keep doing what they love. Selected appointments are also available in Nunawading.

Sport should build confidence, not take it away.

Most young athletes don’t come to physiotherapy because they want physiotherapy.

They come because something has interrupted the sport they love.

Aches, pains and injuries are part of sport. Understanding why they happen and how to respond can make all the difference.

Who We Work With

Whether you’re an athlete or a parent, it’s completely normal to have questions. Our role is to help you understand what’s happening, explain your options clearly and develop a plan that supports both your health and your long-term development.

We often help athletes who are…

  • Recovering from injury.
  • Returning to training or competition.
  • Experiencing growth-related pain.
  • Preparing for an important season.
  • Looking to reduce their risk of injury.
  • Wanting to improve strength, movement and resilience.
  • Trying to understand why injuries keep returning.

We also support athletes with a wide range of sporting conditions, including:

  • Tendon injuries
  • Growth-related conditions
  • Joint and muscle injuries
  • Concussion rehabilitation
  • Running injuries
  • Swimming-related shoulder pain
  • Load management
  • Return-to-sport planning
  • Performance support

Something we want you to know

Growing athletes aren’t just smaller adults.

Their bodies are constantly adapting to growth, training, school, recovery and competition. Sometimes pain is part of that process. Sometimes it’s a sign that something needs to change.

You don’t always need to stop training because something hurts. Equally, pushing through pain isn’t always the answer.

Our role is to help you understand the difference, make informed decisions and support your long-term development, not just your next game or competition.

Good decisions come from good understanding.

Growing athletes aren’t just smaller adults.

Young athletes are not simply smaller adults. Growth, maturation, school demands, training loads and recovery all influence injury and performance. Programs are adjusted to the athlete’s developmental stage, sport and goals.

How we work

Every athlete is different, and every plan should be too.

We begin by understanding:

  • Your goals.
  • Your sport.
  • Your training load.
  • Your stage of growth and development.
  • Your recovery, school and life demands.
  • What matters most to you.

Treatment is guided by your goals and may include:

  • Hands-on physiotherapy
  • Exercise rehabilitation
  • Strength and conditioning
  • Movement assessment
  • Load management
  • Return-to-sport planning
  • Education and self-management

Working together

Great athlete care rarely happens in isolation.

With your permission, we’re happy to work alongside parents, coaches, strength and conditioning staff, teachers, sports physicians and other health professionals so everyone is working towards the same goal.

Consistent communication often leads to better decisions, greater confidence and better outcomes for the athlete.

A note from Daniel

I’ve always believed physiotherapy for young athletes is about much more than treating injuries.

It’s about helping athletes understand their bodies, make good decisions, build resilience and continue enjoying the sport they love for years to come.

Good decisions come from good understanding.

Ready when you are

Whether you’re dealing with a recent injury, recurring pain, growth-related concerns or simply want to stay healthy throughout the season, we’re here when you’re ready.

Good decisions come from good understanding.
